We work closely with our committee, parents and families to ensure we offer a safe, valued, respected and culturally enriched educational setting.

We use the Storypark platform in order to maintain regular, clear and open lines of communication and weekly plans between the Mitchell Street Child Care Centre and our families.

Our outside areas provide great spaces for children of all ages to explore and enjoy all year round. We have a sandpit, bike path, garden space, and lots of play equipment.

We also provide all children with three meals a day and snacks, and have a cook onsite to make healthy and delicious meals.

Our staff are highly qualified with many years’ experience implementing quality educational programs based on children’s’ interests, needs as well as parent consultation.

Please get in contact with us today to discuss your children and our room availability.

Our Philosophy

Learning Through Play: Our learning programs link to the Early Year Leaning Framework. We respect that child are capable learners and learn through their emerging interest and intentional teaching in our play-based curriculum.

Our Educators’: We continuously reflect on our education practices and provide a stimulated learning environment guided by the principles of Being, Belonging and Becoming. Our educators work hard to ensure a nurturing environment for the children.

Families: We develop respectful relationships with families based on open communication and creating a sense of belonging.

Health, Safety & Environment: We provide a safe, health and inclusive environment that enhances learning.

Multicultural Practice: We value our culturally diverse community and acknowledge the Larrakia people, their elders, past present and emerging whose land we are on. We work collaboratively to build connections with the Top End community through relevant and meaningful experiences.

Our Vision

To run an inclusive and supportive centre where educators work together with children and families to foster learning and development. Our programs focus on using play-based learning experiences in a variety of contexts to enhance children’s holistic development.

We support children with ESL and those with learning difficulties, as well as promoting culturally diversity and sustainable practices.
