For the past year the Mitchell Street Child Care Centre’s staff has been involved in a funded project with Maningrida Child Care Centre, in order to exchange ideas, culture and further develop both Centres.
The exchange program has seen staff from both centres visit each other and spend the day at the respective Centres, observing the development and care that staff provide the children in attendance.
It has been valuable for Mitchell Street Child Care Centre staff to learn from an Indigenous community Centre like Maningrida and similarity the Maningrida staff learnt a lot form a ‘mainstream’ centre such as Mitchell Street.
